Solar in the Southern Suburbs
The Southern Suburbs run from Observatory and Mowbray out through Claremont and Rondebosch to Constantia and the vineyards beyond. The area mixes leafy family homes, larger properties and a good number of schools, clinics and businesses that cannot afford to lose power.
Trees are a real consideration here. Mature oaks and pines shade some roofs for part of the day, so we design arrays around the sun's path rather than ignoring it. Where shade cannot be avoided, micro-inverters or optimisers can keep the rest of the array producing.
What we install
We fit solar PV, hybrid inverters and lithium battery systems, and we install solar geysers for households with high water-heating costs. Schools and small businesses in the area often want backup for fridges, computers and security systems.
Larger properties in Constantia
Properties in Constantia and the upper Southern Suburbs can have big roofs and big loads, including pools, boreholes and outbuildings. That is an opportunity, but it also means the design has to be right: an oversized array on a shaded or poorly oriented roof will underperform. We check orientation, shade and roof condition before quoting.
