Solar on the Atlantic Seaboard
The Atlantic Seaboard runs along the coast from the city's edge through Green Point, Sea Point, Bantry Bay, Clifton, Camps Bay and on to Hout Bay. It is a mix of apartments, seaside homes and larger properties on the slopes of Lion's Head and the Twelve Apostles.
Salt air is the defining feature of installs here. It is hard on metal fixings, connections and enclosures, so we choose corrosion-resistant mounting and pay attention to where we place equipment and how we seal it. Wind from the south-east is another factor, and roof-mounted systems need to be fixed for the loading that comes with it.
What we install
We fit solar PV, hybrid inverters and lithium battery systems, and we maintain them so salt and dust do not quietly steal output. For apartments and blocks, backup usually keeps the essentials and common services running.
A note on the sea view: some properties have heritage, estate or body-corporate rules about rooftop equipment. Where that applies, we work within it and, if full solar is not allowed, a grid-charged battery still solves the load-shedding problem.
Why maintenance matters at the coast
Coastal systems need a little more attention than inland ones. Salt spray settles on panels, and connections are exposed to humid, salty air. A regular check keeps both the output and the safety of the system where it should be. That is why we offer a maintenance service for coastal homes.
Getting a quote on the Atlantic Seaboard
Send us your monthly bill, the circuits you want to keep on, and a photo or description of your roof. We will prepare a written quote and arrange a site visit where it helps.
